Meet the Doctors!

Feel rushed at those 10 minute Dr. visits? We get it. So we started this FREE newsletter.

Hi, I'm Dr. Tina R. Storage, MD

... And I'm so happy you're here!

I’m a board-certified gastroenterologist and mom to 2 boys, Cyrus (6) and Ayden (3). I started Doctor Versus because I am deeply passionate about helping people (that's YOU) take control of their gut health, in a world that is wreaking havoc on our microbiomes.

You deserve clear, compassionate guidance when it comes to your digestive health, and I’m excited to share my clinical insights on everything from common GI concerns to emerging topics like microplastics exposure, leaky gut, and the rise of early onset cancers.

My medical journey started at USC, where I was fortunate to attend on a full Trustee Scholarship and graduated summa cum laude in neuroscience and biology. From there, I went to UCLA for medical school, then to Stanford for residency, and eventually back to UCLA for fellowship, where I served as chief fellow and received the Compassionate Care award—something that means a lot to me.

Clinically, I specialize in everything from colon cancer screening and inflammatory bowel disease to functional gut disorders like IBS and SIBO. I’m also certified in functional gastroenterology and gluten-free care, and I love digging into how diet, lifestyle, and even nutraceuticals can play a role in gut healing and long-term wellness.

In practice, I try to meet each patient where they are, combining evidence-based medicine with a root-cause approach. I want my patients to feel heard, understood, and empowered—not just diagnosed. Outside the clinic, I spend my time with my husband Steven, our beautiful sons, and our dog JoJo (who keeps us all on our toes). I also love mentoring the next generation of doctors—it’s one of the most rewarding parts of this work.

I hope this space gives you helpful tools and inspiration to take care of your gut and, in turn, your whole self.

Howdy! I'm Dr. James H. Tabibian, MD PhD

... And I'm the other half of Doctor Versus. Nice to meet you!

I'm also a board-certified gastroenterologist, and proud dad of 3. I started this newsletter with Dr. Storage as a way to connect more directly with people who care about their gut health and want to understand the big picture, from practical tips to emerging concerns like microplastics and the microbiome.

My background’s pretty traditional: I went to UC Davis for undergrad, then UCLA for medical school, followed by residency at Johns Hopkins, a GI fellowship and PhD at Mayo Clinic, and finally advanced endoscopy training at Penn. I’ve spent years in academic medicine and now work at Adventist Health, where I focus on everything from routine colonoscopies to complex endoscopic procedures.

Beyond the day-to-day, what really motivates me is making medicine more accessible—breaking down what we’re learning in the field so people can make informed decisions about their health. I’m up before dawn most days (usually by 4:30am ), not just to prep for work but because I genuinely love what I do. I live in Southern California with my wife and 3 kids, am a bit of a backyard gardener, and I enjoy digging into both the science and the soul of wellness.

It's my honor to share my clinical expertise with you. I hope this newsletter helps you stay informed, stay curious, and stay well.
